He had a training accident in the Caribbean. Medivaced to San Juan (this video). Two fractured vertebrae. Will be fine with rest and rehab. So thankful to his medical help. Could have been worse without quick recognition and stabilization. (The sheet is for privacy)

Prayers for a fast and complete recovery Tuttle….

Just curious how did he b get to ride in an Army Blackhawk?
It’s not. It’s an SH 60 Seahawk off the USS Iwo Jima. Flown to the USS San Antonio which is my son’s ship.
He was on a training exercise wherein he was seated in the deck of the bow on a smaller boat: high speed, 30+ knots, high swells (8-9 feet), for about 15 minutes, -resulted in 2 fractured vertebrae T-12, L-1. No long term or life threatening injuries, thank God.
The other guy seated up front with him was also hurt, but no fractures.
Thanks to all for the kind wishes. The treatement he got from the ship to San Juan to Plymouth Naval hospital has been exemplary.
When his Captain heard of the injury (he actually came to the medical unit to see my son, who is a P.O. 1st class), he ordered the ship to change directions and head to the San Juan full speed, to shorten the flight time.
