1963 in film - Wikipedia

I really liked:
Billy Liar
The Birds
Captain Newman, M.D.
Charade
Cleopatra

From Russia with Love
The Great Escape
Hud
Lilies of the Field
Love with the Proper Stranger
The Nutty Professor
Take Her, She's Mine
The Victors
The V.I.P.s

But the Steve goes to: Tom Jones

It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World - no love for that? I think that's honestly my favorite of the bunch.

Kind of a weak year after '62 in what is about to be a special decade for filmmaking. V.I.P.s and The Birds are both kind of goofy; I like the former but not so much the latter.

IAMMMMW is somehow both half-baked and overdone.

Psycho and the Birds go together: they are both Hitchcock's experiments in having a movie start out to be about one thing and suddenly became a story about something very different. An interesting concept since that can happen in life, too.
