It's buried about 4 inches below the frost line and 6 feet to the left of my camp in an area 2' by 25'. By mere coincidence I need a new footer dug there. Bring your shovels.
Good question. P lived in the JD edge that is really close to campus - but there isnt enough privacy or very nice houses for the money these days in that area. Possibly same neighborhood as JB/Hop and old Fine homes.
The Syracuse Media Group's 29th Treasure Hunt has been suspended. The medallion is no longer hidden.
The medallion was placed at Beaver Lake Nature Center last week. Since that time signage was placed in the area, prohibiting walking on the trails - allowing only snowshoeing and cross country skiing. The signage was not in place when the medallion was hidden by an SMG staffer, which was also verified by a Dermody, Burke and Brown representative, who monitors the contest.
Syracuse Media Group became aware of the signs on Friday, Feb. 19.
The hunt will resume with a relocated medallion for a shortened event next weekend. A new set of clues will be published leading to its location, starting Feb. 26.
I always enjoyed the winter fest treasure hunt. One of the things I miss about CNY. Is the prize still $1k/$2k? Seems like they would have increased it by now but I guess newspaper subscriptions haven't exactly increased in the past 20 years.
