WAR ADMIRAL
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htCUUTk6vT4
War Admiral was a son of Man O’ War, although, (despite what you saw in the movie “Seabiscuit”), he was no where near the size, (Seabiscuit, a grandson of Man O’ War, was virtually the same height and heavier), But he was nearly as dominant- until the match race with Seabiscuit. In those days, Eastern, (War Admiral) and Western, (Seabiscuit), horse racing were like two different sports- they didn’t mix much and this was kind of like the first Super Bowl. Here is the full race with the contemporary commentary:

Here is Clem McCarthy calling the Kentucky Derby:

Thirty horses isn’t a race: it’s a cavalry charge.
War Admiral was born at Faraway Farm in Kentucky, and was owned by Samuel D. Riddle. His jockey was Charles Kutsinger. His record in 26 races was 21-3-1.
