Comment: This is an era of SEC dominance and even if they have tough schedules, it’s hard not to believe that the winner of the Alabama-LSU game on November 5th will be undefeated and playing for the national title at the end of the season. The Big 12/10 looks a bit like three years ago where they have four unbeaten teams that may take turns knocking each other off. Oklahoma appears to be the class of them but I’m not really sold on them as a possible national champions after years of post season failures and a couple of down years. Oklahoma State is one of several teams that just don’t seem to have a good enough defense to make it all the way to the final game. (I’d put the two ACC teams, Clemson and Georgia Tech, in the same group.) Texas hasn’t really played anybody yet so it’s hard to say that they are “back“. We will see this week against Oklahoma in the only match-up of unbeaten teams. Michigan may sneak up on people but I don’t see them beating Wisconsin in the first ever Big Ten title game. Texas Tech, Illinois and Kansas State are pretenders. I also don’t think this is a year when we’ll get a “BCS buster” into the national title game. I think the Alabama/LSU winner will play either Wisconsin or Stanford for all the marbles
