The Unit Not Getting Enough Credit

Yes, our offensive line is young and has played with different combos of 5 due to injury. However, I think they, along with AET and ED, are shining positives thus far. Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but wanted to make sure. Great job in pass blocking when teams have known thats our bread and butter and prime intention. Yes, our running ypc is down, but we have run some young backs behind them, including 170# Moe. Bravo to a young but talented group that is deep.

I too have been pleasantly surprised (or maybe not as disappointed as I expected to be) by the o line given all the circumstances. Run blocking hasn't been the best but pass blocking has generally been adequate.

Yes, they are young and a bit banged up and will certainly improve. That said, Dungey has been getting the ball out in less than 2.5 seconds. That together with our scheme plays a large part in the lack of sacks. Hard to lavish too much praise at this point with the lack of effective run blocking. Perhaps by the end of the year I will be able to share your sentiments.

we get a lot of passes out quick.. but there have been a lot of plays he had plenty of time to throw too. considering who we have played just not getting sacked 4-5 times a game is great. if we were getting any run game at all I think the oline play would be considered far superior than people expected. as it is its still a pleasant surprise even if much of it is scheme related, thats still a good thing

we all know about the run game struggles but ND starting blitzing second half and things started falling apart. Lets see how the oline weathers the storm knowing that the pressure is coming.
