- Marek Dolezaj put on a show, scoring 17 points on 7 for 12 shooting. He had 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and a block. Miami never adjusted to his spin move and he had another wire-to-wire one man fast break. He kept us in the game

- Joe Girard, not unexpectedly, tried to take over in Elijah’s absence. Sometimes, he came up short but he made the big basket that tied the game up in the final seconds of regular and did have 13 points and 4 assists.

- I like that Buddy Boeheim is finding other ways to score even as his long shot has deserted him. He makes a nice mover to the high post area and can score form there. he did have 12 points, even if it took a while to get to there.

- Quincy Guerrier had his best game since the Louisville game, 17 days and 6 games ago. He had 8 points and 6 rebounds, a block and steal, although he did play 30 minutes and those aren’t exceptional numbers over that time. he was the primary offender at the foul line, going 2 for 5. He had an 8 game stretch from the second Virginia Tech game to the Florida State game where he made 27 of 34 shots (79.4%) of his free throws. Since then he’s played 6 games and made 7 of 19, (36.8%). But there was nothing to complain about in the degree of his effort. He battled the entire 30 minutes.

- JB went to Jesse Edwards, rather than Marek when Bourama got into foul trouble. I thought he played pretty well for 13 minutes, scoring 5 points with 3 rebounds and a block. He was 3 for 4 from the line. Maybe Guerrier should take lessons. Jesse and Jon Bol Ajak, who is redshirting, are the future of the position. That’s what it’s all about now: the future.
