- Two tough tests and we passed them both. I think both Virginia Tech and Stanford could wind up NCAA teams and these are the type of games we’ll need to win in March.

- When we were down, it was Kris Joseph that took over the game, just like a tram‘s star is supposed to. He score 9 points in a row. The score only went from 45-52 to 54-58 but that stretch set up the comeback. Then he got the bucket that put us up for good at 61-60. I wasn’t a big believer in Kris being a “star” quality player but he’s starting to change my mind.

- Every big run this year is likely to have Dion Waiters at the center of it. He scored 5 in a row from 2:08 to 0:49 to negate a three pointer by Gage and help us hold onto the heard-earned lead.

- Fab Melo helped keep us in the game through the awful first half with 7 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals. Good teams know how to stay in games even when they aren’t scoring and this team does it.

- People argue about Scoop vs. Brandon vs. Dion. They are all on the same team and scored 35 of our 69 points. I’m glad we’ve got all three of them.

- CJ Fair didn’t have a great game but we couldn’t have won without his 10 points and 6 rebounds, including the three point play that got us to within one.

We continue to force many turnovers: 24 in this game, 129 for the season, (21 a game). They press is a weapon for this team that they don’t have to wait until hopelessly behind to use. We had 19 steals in this game- 19!

- Our streak of regular season non-conference wins continues at 33. We are a 70 foot desperation shot away from it being 47. We’d had 8 in the three priors years, (2005-08) and were that GMAC run in the NET away from missing the NCAA tournament all three years. It’s important to take care of business this time of year and are doing it.
