Jim Larranaga said that he has “no intentions of retiring,” even at age 73 after leading the Miami Hurricanes to back-to-back Elite Eights.

But there's no indication he was asked by a reporter.

And one reason a reporter might ask an idiotic question (besides the fact that he or she is an idiot) is that idiotic questions often yield good answers.

So, for example, suppose someone said to Larranaga, "Coach, youre 73 years old. What do you say to people who believe you sould be thinking about retirement?"

That could get a great response from Larranaga.
Maybe funny...maybe fiery...maybe disgusted.
But something that might play well in the story.
