The bell was lame. Even after they mic'd it. Wasn't a person in my section that didnt want the train whistle back.

FWIW barely heard the bell on TV.

I sit right above the bell and we couldn't hear it until the 2nd half when they put a mic in it through the loud speaker. Still lame.

As a kid, I remember a lot of teams ringing a bell after a score, so it's not like it's a unique Syracuse tradition.

I suspect that most of those schools have moved on to something new, since ringing a bell after a TD is lame and pathetic - so on the plus side I guess in 2017 we might be able to have it to ourselves.
