Just got a private message from a poster I don't know (CusefanATL). While talking with his cousin, he had discovered that his aunt is one of my best friends here in CT. (To make it even more unlikely, neither the aunt nor the cousin are posters here). It's kind of amusing how CusefanATL put it all together.

I think I'm beginning to understand that it all comes back to cto44 ;)

I remember about 10 years ago when I stumbled upon this board I told a friend that he should check syracusefan.com. I referenced a post someone made about going to practice at Manley and they had posted a really good writeup on it that I thought he would like to read. His response was "I know. I'm the one who wrote it."

On a similar note, apparently stuckinbig11 knew my uncle while they were at Syracuse.

The Syracuse community really is a lot smaller than you'd think. This person, knows that person, whose brother knew another person, who was friends with the original person. Funny how that works out.

About eight years ago I remembered that an occasional poster had once indicated he did high tech investigatory work. I contacted him and he helped me locate the birth family of my adopted son. It also turned out that poster and I have the same last name and are related to the same guy who emigrated here from England in about 1620.

CTO speaks the truth, a very small world indeed. We've found all sorts of connections over the years, people I went to school with live near CTO. BillOrange was friends with former classmates of mine. Discovered that people I worked with posted here. Also just found out that one of my sons was a poster here but he had never told me his screen name till about 2 weeks ago. I knew 2 of my 3 sons posted here occasionally but never knew my 3rd did. Too many funny connections over the years. My 87 year old grandfather ALL4SU posts here too.

useless tidbit of the day: You know who else was from Armonk?

Are you thinking of Dave Barry? I was his babysitter. My father appears in several of his columns.

Oh, yes, also Laura Brannigan. My brother dated her at one point.

Armonk was a VERY small town
