a lot of those years, we were playing a much worse team. we should have a pretty good record considering how much we get passed over.

games where we got killed are where bowl rules put us up against better teams (97, 98, 04)

Perhaps, but all of those teams are successful teams with P5 credentials, sans Houston. Not a Murray State or Austin Peay in the bunch.
