That's an excuse for the product being put on the field. There was so much wrong with the game last night that had nothing to do with whether UL is a good team or not. And it's not just this game, this is just one of many at this point. There are so many things wrong at this point and it seemed like last night almost all of them reared their ugly head.
UL is talented and has a good coach but win or lose, our trajectory is heading downwards pretty quickly.
It's not an excuse. It's a fact. And I'm in no way dismissing that there are issues. You must not read the board much if you think I'm oblivious to the issues with this team.
But before people go too far off the deep end, ND is undefeated, Lville has one loss 2pt road loss in conference and an excellent defense, Maryland one loss 3pt FG at the gun loss to WVU and a dynamic offense and a defense that keeps points off the board.
Nova might be the best team in 1-AA.
This schedule has been exponentially harder than last year.
ND is much better than PSU was last year.
Nova much, much, much, much better than Wagner
CMU a wash with Tulane
UMd much, much, better than Northwestern.
It's been harder than I thought it would be, and I was saying it was very difficult months ago.
The book is out, if you take away the run, they aren't efficient enough in the pass game to beat you. They can hit bit chunk plays at a pretty good clip, but not string them together, convert 3rd downs, and in the redzone collectively lose their minds.
