This is a bad team right now

Dino learned both lessons while here.

1. A more athletic QB was going to be the best way for him to keep drives alive, keep his defense off the field, and score points.
2. A more athletic QB was more likely to get injured and he never had enough of them.

And then Dino left here without an identity.
I think his identity when he left was a rich dude named Dino. What a silly buyout. He probably has a sick home theater with all the extended edition blu rays and a popcorn machine and a leather bound notebook to jot down witty quotes.

Klubneck wasn’t even sacked on Saturday by Tech so what is it that our defense can’t do here?
It's not what they can't do, it's what they won't be called upon to do if the strategy is to sit back and let Klubnick get into a rhythm. That seems to be how ERob rolls.

Plz plz plz prove me wrong, staff!

Here’s to hoping that the aggressive defense employed vs Colgate in the 1st half this past week is more what it looks like moving forward.

The Clemson QB can run. Not only pressure but lane discipline will be needed as well by our defense for contain. I wonder if our Star position is asked to shadow Klubnik to help out.

I’m not going that far. The schedule is tough but there are 4 more wins on it. If we’re becoming the program we all want to be, I think 6 wins is a reasonable expectation.
I like to watch the ESPN predictors for laughs. I think we were favored in 3 games when the season started (Colgate/Uconn/BC).

Duke and Pitt we are now slight favorites + now heavy favorites at home against UNC. Slight dogs to BC now. Duke could still bounce back but I think UNC's team will be in the toilet by the time they get to the Dome.

Duke is a must win at home.

Not sure there are 4 wins on it. Given the quality of teams it will be very very hard to steal a W on the road. Possible but not likely. Home we could run the table, but even last year we couldn't do that. Chances are we will have one stinker.

I think we big issue that we face is our slow starts. Last year we were good enough to overcome those. I don't think we can this year.

Tennessee down 17-0
UConn down 17-6
Ohio 6-0
Stanford 10-0
Pitt 31-0
VA Tech 14-0 and then 21-3
BC 14-0
Miami 21-0

That is 8 of our 14 games that we have had slow starts.

Some of this is just not finishing early drives, not lack of moving the ball

Tenn we were set up to need a few yards to score
uconn we chose to not take the pts

Ohio was on the D and then the offense went TD/FG/TD

Stanford/Pitt/VT/BC for sure was bad starts on offense.

I think some of this is perhaps scripting or trying to see if we can run the ball.

Tenn we started fine then took the penalty/Uconn we drove 70 yds/Colgate we started fast

Its going to take 2-3 more games to see if this trend is better this year.
