Something did happen "years" ago to the Boeheim-Fine relationship. Was it in 2005? When the University was conducting their investigation? I don't remember the year or the exact details but someone on here (the insider board on the other site) intimated that JB and Fine had a major blow up about something and their relationship was ruined irreparably. I think this was right around the time that Fine was relieved of his recruiting duties. Anyone else remember this?

The past several days I've thought about every possible outcome that might settle this entire scandal, & NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, prepared me for this.
We now have Bernie's WIFE armed with a video camera, around the players, coaches, facilities & program, basically showcasing Syracuse University basketball...our beloved Orangemen.
We have a HC who shot off his mouth & called the "victims" Liars, thereby putting him in the precarious position of being out of a job.
And finally, that tape...that smoking gun tape, that paints a scenario that would've been rejected by the Lifetime Channel.

From now on, Penn State = Syracuse, only in different sports. What follows will undoubtedly be, a Grand Jury, possible arrests, federal indictments, etc.

And the whole, sordid, obscene scenario will now be labelled...The Syracuse Scandal.
Can someone help paint a realistic, positive spin out of this? I've already had to sit my son down & try to explain what's going on with the tape. His first words to me; " What's gonna happen to the program"?

I'm shocked to see someone who posts on this board so much be completely shocked to here what came out today. The board has been reporting this for a week and a half, nearly word for word. Comparing this to Penn St. is just stupid, Penn State's coaches caught the guy and did nothing. Syracuse didn't catch anybody doing anything, they investigated it themselves after the DA, PS, ESPN refused to.
As I said last week, Bernie will never be a part of the basketball program again, some public official will probably go down, but JB will still be our coach as long as he wants to be.

I hope you're right. But if anyone thinks the general perception is that we're "not PSU", then you're not paying attention. JB is hanging on to his job by a thread, & the chorus for his firing will greatly increase as the week goes by.
If he can get past the next coupla days, up to & after our next game, then maybe he hangs on.
But that "liars" comment is not being taken lightly. Victims groups will be lining up, & if they start picketing or petitioning...he's TOAST.

Yep and to avoid that fate (especially if they response to this all is as you note), then he needs to strongly back that statement with a vigorous verbal statement adding a bit more to it. That's if he wants to keep coaching. Maybe he won't want to deal with this hanging on him going forward.
