This is part of what Marrone is building

Walk on QB Nate Forer majors in Aerospace Engineering? Damn. That's the major all engineers start in before switching to mechanical. Like how all of my friends switched to business after Organic Chemistry ruined their Biology dreams.

Not all engineers...

I don't know. We've had plenty of not so many good character ones too. So while the desire may be one thing, the reality is something different.

Yeah, I'm not sure you're saying this, but this stuff is all BS as far as I'm concerned. I really appreciate and believe Marrone is genuine in his desire to help these kids develop into solid, successful young adults. But, ultimately, he wants to win games and there are going to be plenty of kids that turn out to be bad apples. It happens. I also think it's BS to assume we're getting a good character kid b/c he comes from a good high school, has a good GPA and says the right things in public. Anybody go to school with any lacrosse players? Sport is chock full of kids with terrific pedigrees and abhorrent social behavior.

I'm not judging, but I couldn't really care less how many kids are making the honor roll. It's cool, I'm impressed, but I just think these things tend to ebb and flow.

Lot of truth to your take, bills.

Now, what matters most is wins. But this team is being built around intelligent, hard working players who want to succeed. A pair that stand out to me are Shu Mungwa making the list majoring in Biology and Rob Trudo majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

Say what you will about Doug, but he wants these kids to be successful people, and I see a good level of success in that respect.

A great credit to the program.

Have to believe that this will help Coach Marrone continue to improve recruiting.

Unless it's the chess club at Harvard you can monitor any group of 100 college students and 2 or 3 are going to end up doing something stupid. The chess club at Harvard is more like 4 or 5.

macky aint starting again-

if marrone isnt that dense- he understands he must have solid line play from the center -

Hey look, in a thread about academics you figured out a way to bash Marrone and someone/something else you don't like. Your dense for posting this, whether you think Macky did a good job or not it doesn't take require very much common sense to realize that Macky is most likely going to be playing the rest of his career.
