This is the worst thing I've ever seen

LMAO @ the human centipede reference. All other bits are irrelevant.

Syracuse 7 Baylor 3 late 1960s the actual year escapes my memory.

1967. It was the year we started wearing blue jerseys regularly at home. Baylor didn't realize we wore white at home and only their white jerseys so we used our practice jerseys.

And the score was 7-0. the 7-3 game was two weeks later when Csoonka set the SU record for carries with 43. That was our offense that year. Csonka...Csonka...Csonka. It worked well enough for an 8-2 record, our best for 20 years.

Hearing about those games from the 50s and 60s makes me realize why my grandfather and father were big baseball fans.

And yet, if it wasn't popular, we wouldn't have football today.

One thing about low scoring game sin every sport: every score means more. A 2-1 baseball game can be as entertaining as a 10-9 game, in it's own way.

But I do think maybe the pace of life was slower in those days and even entertainment was less noisy, so a 2-1 baseball game or a 14-7 football may have seemed more exciting to fans back then than it seems to us now.

I haven't read everything in this thread, but the thread title needs a response that includes this:
