Anyone who wants Dino gone is overreacting.
However this team should be a lot better offensively in year 4.
That performance tonight was 2014 or 2005 quality.
The second to last drive there was no urgency and way too much time being wasted when we were down 2 scores.
Just a poor clock management.
Do we practice situational football?

Gotta call a spade a spade. Poor preparation for our football team last night. I don’t see it improving a lot this year.
Hope we can manage to get to 6-6 and the Pinstirpe Bowl.

Offensively, we were horrible. But I state the obvious...6 wins is going to be very tough if all we can muster is 10 points against a very average ACC opponent.

At this point I don’t see a bowl game this year. Definitely disappointed to see discipline, organizational and communication problems. My guess will be Wildhack will have some friendly but firm discussions around that with Dino.

Said it before and will say it again, both lines need to be imposing their will in order to be successful, we are not there. Absolutely no one should be surprised about the o line play.

Not sure where I am at with TD. Do I think he played injured, yes. Do I think he has decent arm strength?, again yes. That said he has little feel for the game from the sample of this year and for those who thought his elite reading of the defense and progressions would be game changing, it just isn’t there. That is certainly teachable but there is allot of learning that needs to happen.

Back on the roller coaster folks. We have not turned any corners here yet as some have liked to implied. Maybe more 2 steps forward and one step back. Let’s see how the team develops the rest of the year. Adjust expectations though, it will be better for ya for this year. Look for improvements.

Go Cuse

No one expected this type of performance from the offense 4 years in......10 lousy points to a Wolfpack team that lost NFL talent all over the defense

My bigger concern is the recruiting class in year #4, what do we have coming in to back fill positions of need. Continually being at the bottom of the ACC in recruiting rankings is going to mean we finish at the bottom of the ACC in the standings

Dino is going to earn his salary the rest of this year and heading into next season. A lot of issues need to be corrected. But I sense he expected some of them the way he spoke in the preseason.

Obviously Dino has a long leash and this year is swirling down the drain but what makes anyone think next year is going to be better? We have hope/belief that our young kids are going to be much better, but that seems to be the story every year and never seems to be the case. I say again - last year was the perfect storm and skewed the reality of where this program is in year 4 of the Dino reign.

Yes the coaching staff has had some issues this year.
One big thing a lot of us brushed off was Dino again talking about not having depth and we are seeing big time this year.
We are also not getting the "bounces" we got last year, almost everything went right for us and now this year it just seems like we are missing a lot of stuff by inches.
The biggest disappointing/eye opening thing for me is the penalties 55 for 444 yards with a crazy avg of 74 per game.

I was surprised so many were predicting an eight, nine win season. I figured seven wins was the ceiling. Now I question that. Just sensed that Dungey’s loss would would be hard to overcome.

Need a dual threat QB. Or you need a QB who can make quick decisions under pressure. The gap between fourth year Dungey and third year DeVito is the size of the Atlantic Ocean.

you don't need a dual threat qb, it's nice to have, you just need a guy who can get the ball out

i feel like i'm watching rob johnson again. of course you can do a lot worse than him in college. it's just a terrible combination of big armed guy who doesn't get the ball out and bad offensive line that needs him to get the ball out

I hate to harp on this, but Im afraid it’s the truth. DeVito would prosper immediately in a program like, say, Wisconsin with a stout line and great backs. It’s too much to ask of him to function behind a struggling OL with average backs.

Over the last 35 years or so, SU has enjoyed its greatest success with a dual threat QB. The only exception was a few years with Nassib and a brief time with Philcox, roughly 30 years ago.

Yes absolutely insane to want Dino gone. There are certainly things that need to cleaned up offensively and coaching decision wise but to think we can do better at this point is crazy talk.

I agree with this. Yes having a Dual threat is nice it’s not the end all be all in this system. The quick decision making and getting the ball out are the most important things.

What is really starting to worry me is his pocket awareness. You have to be conscious of the tackle box on each passing play if you are going to throw it away.

Tommy was definitely panicking quite a bit in the first half, and a little less so in the second. It’s just is worrisome for overall mental state and speaks to how composed he is overall. The game may not have slowed down for him yet. Of course the OL is absolutely terrible so that doesn’t help matters.

I’m also worried about Tommy not seeing hot reads on blitzes, which should also be well ingrained at this point in his career.

It is not time to give up on Tommy by any means, but I think he’s got a lot of work to do, and it isn’t more RVA or 7 on 7 stuff. Not sure how you fix it other than live action, so we are going to live that learning process with him in games I guess.

But it’s more than that. The OL struggles to hold blocks and the backs are average. We’re not going to succeed without an adequate running game. Right now it’s awful.

Yea the OL is really bad and the offensive play calling was terrible. So many first and second down runs when you can’t run the ball then asking the online to hold up on 3rd and 8 all the time is craziness. They completely went away from the quick screen game until the final couple of drives.

We don’t NEED a dual threat, nice to have sure, but at a minimum we need someone who has pocket awareness and knows how to buy time with footwork. You don’t have to be a Mcnabb to extend plays and make something happen.

Next year is not gonna be better. Offense stays roughly same (crappy) and defense loses 3 of front four both lb that shouldn’t be starting anyways and a strong safety. With a good group we give up 62 to Maryland what do u think is gonna happen next year when we have only a good secondary. 60 points will be norm again. Ward did ok against a crappy team last night with a handful of good plays from lb. if it wasn’t for Johnathan and Coleman they would have ran all over us.

Could not agree more!

we need Tommy to throw the ball within 2.5 seconds or run it.

Every time he’s allowed a pocket to hold the ball, disaster strikes.

he’s a lot like Baker Mayfield last year. Draw up plays for him to grab the snap and fire the ball.
