If we had a better OL, then the talent on hand would be more than adequate.  But it isn't, so it has a compound effect on the offense not performing as well as it should.  Improved OL alone would make a world of difference for this team.

Seems as though the coaching staff has improved the talent / depth in the pipeline at several positions over what they inherited, via recruiting in the classes of 2016 / 2017 / what they are lining up for 2018:

They're still behind and trying to reload at the following positions, for a variety of reasons:

TE
OL
DT

Please note, I'm not suggesting that we're all the way there yet at the positions noted in the first list above.  Just that through recruiting efforts, we've improved at those positions--in some cases, substantially so.  It takes 2-3 years for most recruits to really start to make an impact, so it might take a bit for the results to manifest.  But once we straighten out TE and recruit up the OL / DT positions up to the extent that we have several other positions, things will pop.

And if we had a better OL, things might have popped this year given the improvements we are seeing on defense.
