This Recruiting Class Will be a Total Failure if...

That’s incorrect. They are NOT yearly.

About the most you can do as a coach is tell a guy “I will never play you, so if you ever want to see the field, you should look elsewhere.”

Imagine asking kids to commit to your school, while at the same time cutting kids who aren’t playing well. Yeah, that would go over great on the recruiting trails. Go to Syracuse so you can lose your scholarship if the team isn’t doing good and the fans are mad.

Its part of big boy sports and the guy we are recruiting will need that scholarship.

You can't keep Quadir White in the program any longer its a joke he's still here and allowed to eat his way off the field.

“Eat his way off the field”...smh.

Lots of assumptions being made there. Then again, it’s the same guy who was trashing people for having “underlying conditions”.

This isn’t the pros though. You don’t just cut guys that you recruited and gave a scholarship to.
Disagree here for when I played at the Cuse, there were players that were literally useless and didn’t care about contributing. Maybe acting like a pro team will assist in making us somewhat competitive again for this ridiculous how bad we are and it has to improve or we will continue to lose financial support from the donors.

If you read between the lines on this forum White seems to be dealing with a health issue that seems to be genetic and won’t see the field here because of that.

That pales in comparison to what other successful schools are doing.

It is a tightrope, but coaches encourage players to leave all the time, everywhere. Pulling schollies is what can get you in trouble if you’re not a factory school. I know for a fact Muschamps staff at South Carolina became blackballed from a prominent high school after he pulled the scholly of a 4 star WR when they got a commit from a higher rated 4 star late in the process.

Yeah - and we’re in no position to be doing stuff like that. IMO.

Need to check that for scholarships are renewable by the school on a yearly basis. That’s how it was and maybe it changed.

Yeah pretty sure CL has posted it used to be yearly but changed to 4. I believe 721 is correct on that.

Does the Cuse get an exemption for his genetic issue and get an extra scholarship or are we stuck for the next two/three years with this kid?

Must have missed that over the years but I like the old way of making them earn their scholarship every year. $60k per year is a lot of cash to guarantee someone if they don’t produce.

If necessary, players that are medically DQ'd are usually transferred to a "retired" list where they can finish up their degrees without counting against the 85 player limit.

Right now we're under the 85 player limit anyways.
