This team is a Ford, Johnson, and Eskridge

I don't know. I suppose that's true but that's how college football is right now. Whether it's guys leaving early for no particular reason, guys running into off-field issues or transferring unexpectedly, or guys suffering season-ending injuries -- it just happens. And it happens almost every year. If you're going to play that game there are a lot of teams that could argue the same thing, IMO.

away from being pretty damn good.

Would have provided that upperclassmen experience to balance out the youth movement.

A real shame.

Would've loved to have Knapp. He showed great mobility in his high school tape, and would probably be our LT right now.

I get that, but given the issues that are holding this team back, those three guys would have had a huge impact. That's all I'm saying. There's always early departures, some impact more than others.

Knapp was a big blow. Staff really liked him.

Eskridge hit his ceiling and I just wasn't that impressed with him last year. Too bad, he's struggling to find his way in the NFL as well.

Dontez Ford, I mean who knew? That was infuriating seeing how good he was at WR for Pitt. He was homesick though, so that's why he transferred.

Eskridge for the final year would have been really nice.

My point wasn't really to knock your point as much to whine and complain about the state of college football and all the upheaval every year. I feel like one of the major hurdles in at least reclaiming a good chunk of what we had in the 90s is that it's almost impossible to just get 20 kids, the vast majority of whom stay for four or five years and actually develop into something. It sucks. Was more fun.

Edit: not to say there weren't departures and injuries but I feel like you lose half of every class by the time they get to Year 4 these days.

eskridge, the most talking least tackling safety in the history of man

Don't think I've ever been more disappointed with a transfer situation than when Ford left. The kid was going to be a huge asset. Now he's made big plays against us, on the wrong side of the ball and for the wrong team, two seasons in a row.

Putting the ad hominem aside, the guy has a point (though injuries contributed to a lot of his ineffectiveness).

Yeah. Was just having fun. ;)

Wouldn't Shu Mungwa be a senior this year if he stuck with football?
