I have never been as frustrated watching an SU lax team as I am this year and that includes the 07 team that went 5-8. The talent, coaching, and intangibles are all there but this team keeps making the same mistakes week after week after week.
Coach Desko keeps saying they understand the problems and that the young guys are going to get a look yet we keep running the same players out there week in and week out. Lamo made some nice saves late and really salvaged his performance but hes not the answer, lets in way to many easy goals and cant stop anything from deep. If the decision has been made to redshirt Wardwell then announce it publicly and get Lerman out there for a full game.
Enough with Ianzito at short stick D, the kid is getting destroyed out there and was abused again today by Duke. Same for Eilers theres a reason hes barely played until his senior year he had 3-4 turnovers two of them in the fourth quarter that were absolutely horrendous hes becoming a liability out there and hasnt scored a goal in weeks. Desko and Palasek are carrying this offense, there geting some help from Lecky, Cometti etc but the young guys are to hit and miss. Pratt, Maltz, and Schoonmaker have to take it to another level. JoJo is what he is at this point a good player who is not a #1 option, he struggled again today and missed on two key shots late. Nothing personal but he should not be wearing #22.
There is still enough time to right the ship but a major shakeup is needed, this team is headed down a slippery slope and coming off two straight years of failing to make a final four Desko cant afford a tourney miss.
