I just find that laughable. I see no reason to fire Marrone at this point just because we won't duplicate what a senior heavy team did last year. However if we don't have an 8 win season atleast next year with alot of seniors and alot of these kids here for the past 2-4 years then maybe we should look into who else would be a good fit out there.
I was upset with the last few losses as much as anyone else but in retrospect I really didn't see us getting much past .500 at the start of the season. Being at 5-2 7 games in I believe put much higher expectations on a team that has no senior leadership to go along with true freshman, redshirt freshman and sophmores with alot of play time.
I believe there are some things Marrone should look into changing though. Chew should be moved to 2nd string. He made some great catches in the first couple of games but I believe he doesn't have the speed to be a threat and is not what you look for in a number 1 reciever. I'd go Lemon, Graham and then swap out West and Chew. What ever happened to Flemming? I'd showcase Moore a little more as well as use Bailey for screens, and keep trying even if it doesn't work the first time. On the line I'm not a huge fan of Hay, I think Andrew Phillips should be given a try again, he played well last season. I don't think that there's alot to change on D just too much youth to really see the consistency that we need. Although I would swap out Scott a bit more, he gets burned on deep plays but plays great within 15-20 yards.
... just my 2 cents though
