Thought Y'all might like to know a bit more about the Carolinas

If you visit North Carolina this is the sauce you want to bring back with you. Vinegar based, no sugar and all delicious.

Haven't had that, but it sure has the right ingredients.

Carolina Treet is my go-to bottled sauce that's available as far north as the Mid-Atlantic. All the store-bought stuff up near Syracuse is way too sweet, so I'm forced to make my own.

13. Having intense loyalty and lots of opinions about which supermarket is better.

Wegmans is the runaway winner here, although Tops does have some WNY fans. I don't see why they bothered to put in a picture of Price Chopper, aside from making up derogatory nicknames with the store name I've never heard people saying how much they love to shop there. Never heard of the third store pictured in the listing. IMO, Publix, located exclusively down south, is the only place that can pass a straight face quality/loyalty test against Wegmans though.

Ive hardly seen a stewart's around

You can add Arkansas to the beef tomato based sauce. Good eating.

The best part of Arkansas cuisine is the fried catfish. Nothing beats the local cornmeal "breading". I found this little hole in the wall place that fries it up fresh everyday, serves it with hush puppies and tater tots in a big basket. The filets are about the size of large chicken fingers, and they load it up. Simply amazing.

Love Utica Greens!

Avicollis in liverpool has great Utica greens. That with chicken riggies. Yum.

Now that I live in the South I can't get escarole so I make Utica greens with collards or, preferably, kale. Can't tell a difference. Chicken riggies are a little different due to the peppers used. Can't replicate that.

If in NC you need to try the Pik N Pig in Carthage for BBQ. A BBQ joint at an airstrip. They smoke the pork and you choose the sauce. Best I have had in state, bar none. Let me know if you choose this option!

I enjoyed Allen & Sons outside of Chapel Hill.

Lexington, NC BBQ and Shelby, NC (Bridge's) BBQ - hard to top those two.

Just ask BrianOrange about Lexington BBQ

I've never been to Shelby, but have tried a number of places in Lexington and made it to the Lexington BBQ Festival one year. Really awesome. As great as that was, I thought The Pit in Raleigh was even better. Mind-blowing barbecue there.

The Pit was the last place I ate before I moved from Raleigh (and went there 4 or 5 times while I lived there). I'm officially hooked on vinegar based BBQ sauce.

All this talk about food is making me hungry.

When I moved to NC I was at my first day of work and I asked this girl I worked with "what she liked to do for fun". Her response was "she liked to shag". I thought, I'm going to like NC. I later found out that it refers to dancing to beach music.
