Thread for folks going to Atlanta

Driving down from Greenville, SC and looking to see if there are any Cuse tailgating events for the game in Atlanta against Tennessee.

There is the official SU tailgate before the game.

I'd prefer if some of us could get together for a drink or two the night before.

Making this a double header with my brother and some of my friends. Brother lives in Greenville, SC and friend is from Greenville and huge SC fan so they're joining me for the Syracuse game and I'm joining them for the South Carolina game.

I've been to Atlanta 5-10 times now as my best friend lives in the Atlanta suburbs. Definitely echo the sentiment from others about planning for hellacious traffic. Would highly recommend taking the MARTA (metro) if you can. It's simply a far better experience compared to driving there, trust me.

Find yourselves some good lemon pepper wings while you're in town and thank me later.

I hope we have a good number of SU fans in the stadium. Anyone have any idea in how many tickets SU has sold? It’s a 3 1/2 hour drive from Knoxville so an easy drive and day trip for UT fans. I’ll be there. Flying in Friday.

Seeing you can still buy 7th row tickets on the lower sideline from SU I’d assume not great

I wouldn’t read too much into that. The pricing for those lower level seats was quite high as they were premium packages. anecdotally everyone I know bought other sections as it’s an expensive ticket for a road trip. Still have no idea what to expect. I think it’s a tough sell given its Labor Day weekend so lot aren’t planning a special trip ahead of schools returning. I’d guess probably 3/4 of what we sold for Vegas because we have more alums in Georgia Florida and surrounding states so easier for that southeast crew to get there. But fewer Syr locals traveling.

Excited about this one. Heading down with a group of 6 total - 3 SU grads, a mutual friend who is a Vols fan, and two kids. One of the SU alums (my college roommate) and his two sons are all Vols fans, I’m the only diehard SU guy.

Staying in midtown and have Harrah’s seats (why not!). Thinking about the SU tailgate prior to - $44 is relatively cheap. Should be fun!

Usually combine our early season trip with a beach vacation for Mrs. C, so flying out Wednesday the 20th. Go a $380 fare out of Syracuse on American. Spending Wednesday night in Augusta then headed to Myrtle Beach for a week at our HGV time share. We’ll drive to Atlanta Thursday, staying at the Embassy Suites Centennial Park on points. Waffling on the Cuse tailgate Saturday morning or just heading into the stadium early. Bought “cheap” seats in 338. Then flying home Sunday to get ready for the UConn tailgate.

If u want to say hello, I’ll be the guy wearing orange
we switched to embassy as its about a 9 minute walk to the stadium. much easier.

If you haven't purchased a ticket yet, and you don't mind the upper deck...here is a link for $50 seats

Anyone staying near Smyrna there is a Syracuse Restaurant. I can put anyone who wants to take charge in touch with the owner

TM,

We will be staying in Smyrna on Friday night. I'm not sure what time we will be arriving, but it would be great to dine at an SU place.

Have a group headed in from Nashville area.on Friday night and leaving Sunday morning We are bringing RV and staying 20 min away and gonna uber in to town... Be 4 Cuse fans and 3 Vawls.. I despise the Vawls living in TN and would love nothing more than to rub a Cuse win in the faces of all my SEC people.. I know we plan to hit up Sweetwater brewery on Friday night.
