Made it through undefeated. Won ugly, but won.
After the Ville went on that 15-2 run and we were down down 5 with 3+ minutes in that madhouse I thought we were cooked.
Much Character exhibited by the Orange. They will not get ruffled in a close tourney game.

How about the defense played in the 3 game stretch? Yes the offense struggled against some of the best defensive teams in the nation. However, we matched their effort and won.

I thought when Kris fumbled that ball out of bounds the game was over honestly. He didn't even have to get it - it would have been our ball and I thought - that was the game...down three giving them the ball back late in the game. Very, VERY good win last night despite what others might suggest. Beating a hot team that has OWNED us now for years in their house? Very satisfying.

Yeah, that's a tough three-game stretch. It was ugly, but when you come through with 3 Ws you've accomplished something. Put UK, Kansas, Duke, UNC, De Ohio State, Missouri et al against that schedule, and any of them would be very happy with 3 - 0 as well.

I decided to look through the media guide to see I could find a comparable three game regular season stretch in which we'd beaten three quality programs within a week.

Here's what we did since last Wednesday, (the rankings are from Monday, after the first two games).

2/8/12 We beat #10 Georgetown 64-61 in OT in the Dome
2/11/12 We beat unranked Connecticut, (the defending national champions) 85-67 in the Dome
2/13/12 We beat #19 Louisville 52-51 on the road.

Here's the only comparable stretch I found:

1/16/91 We beat #13 Connecticut 81-79 in OT in the Dome
1/19/91 We beat #25 Seton Hall 78-64 in the Dome
1/21/91 We beat #21 Georgetown 58-56 at Georgetown

That year we went 26-4 in the regular season, were ranked #6 and won our first outright Big East regular season championship. :)
Of course, you may remember how that season ended. :(

aka The Gulf War game.

will never forget running from the Dome back to the fraternity house to watch it all on CNN.

Another one (eight days, not a week) came to mind for me:

1/16/2010 Syracuse 72, #10 West Virginia 71 (Morgantown)
1/18/2010 Syracuse 84, Notre Dame 71 (South Bend)
1/23/2010 Syracuse 76, Marquette 71 (Syracuse)

Our next game was on the 25th against Georgetown (ranked 7th or 8th at the time) in the Dome; we outscored them something like 73-42 after the first five minutes and won going away. That made for a nice pair of Saturday/Monday wins against good teams.
