Throwback Monday

Let's hope our latest addition from McKeesport (Curtis Harper) is more successful!

Whats the story behind howard? Did he turn out to be not very good and then transferred out?

Cool to go through that list and see who panned out. Larry Fitzgerald is a HOFer. Stephen Jackson was a solid pro for years. Matt Leinart won the Heisman, but never really panned out in the pros. Owen Daniels was a decent pro. Some other names of note, Ahmad Carroll, Derek Anderson, Cadillac Williams, etc.

He checked everything on the list of a good college QB except an ability to throw the football. Other than that, he was McNabb 2.0.

In fairness, that doesn't make him very different from numerous other quarterbacks we've trotted out in the last 20 years.

Despite the obvious differences between this type of list and how the player's careers actually panned out, people like Lemming keep producing them. Maybe "Lemming" is a good name for this type of work.

Didn't Howard grow substantially after he left SU?

Didn't he become a TE?

Wow - I had no idea Cecil Howard was so highly rated. Syracuse and Alabama both have 1 player on that list. My, how times have changed.

Remember when Cecil Howard was going to be the next Donovan McNabb? Tom Lemming thought so anyway...

If the number 1 player on the list sounds familiar, it is because he has been a star for the Minnesota Twins since he was 21, winning an MVP and 3 batting titles...

This is from a 2010 Cal U. magazine. Cecil apparently joined the military. He now lives in Norfolk, VA.
