Really like the tribute to Paterno.

He came to Syracuse for many years.

In the late 1960s the Penn State - Syracuse game was THE game in the East and he was the THE villan.

I'm glad CNY paid its respects

Funny I just listening to a story about that era from somebody on that particular game from somebody who played in them. Good stuff

One of the greatest games I ever saw was the 1969 game at Archbold.

I was ten years old.

Penn State was 4-0 and No. 2 in the USA.

SU was 3-1.

The Orange took a lead of 14-0 in the first half and was about to go up 21-0 when Greg Allen - who had an incredible day returning punts - failed to get the first down inside the ten on 4th and one.

Penn State scored twice in the 4th Quarter. Lydell Mitchell and Franco Harris were in the backfield.

PSU was given at least two chances because of penalties to get the two-point conversion on the second TD.

I was crushed by the loss as was the SU Football Program.

I am convinced that that was the best Penn State team I ever saw with a defense that featured Mike Reid and Steve Smear. They were great but I hated them forever after that awful loss - the referees gave that game to Penn State.
