Ticket Price Perspective

Yes, have talked to others and they are equally displeased and on the fence as to if they are going to keep seasons or get rid of them.

Might take a year or two off and then move to the 300s after that for football.

Just hard to imagine my Saturdays not being at the dome.

Ugh!
Totally understand, the offer still stands though. If you want to go to the Spring Game we can meet up in 332 and check out the potential new digs. At least this way you’ll have a familiar face there come September.

Either way I respect whatever decision you make.

Question - did the price go from $18 to $32? Was there a donation increase? Sorry if it's already in these threads, couldn't find it.

It looks like about 20% of the seats in sections 302, 336, 318, 320 saw a one year increase from $225 ($150 ticket/$75 donation) to $500 ($225 ticket/$275 donation). So $32/game to $71/game.

I don't know how many season ticket holders that is, but it can't be a lot. They probably could have phased those people in, maybe depending on how long they've been sitting there.

Impacted lower sections too, but not as greatly. Either $250 to $350, or $300 to $500.

But I don't get paid to make such decisions, and I'm lucky it doesn't impact where I sit.

Got it. Maybe it's a push to move people downstairs, but dunno...

I think with this particular season schedule (especially ND), they saw it as an opportunity to right size the pricing, but also offer the cheap alternative.

Just my personal opinion, but if I had season tickets downstairs, I'd likely pay it and think I was getting a deal in the past. Or maybe I move over a section.

It's really just those small portions of the 4 upper deck sections where I think that's a really tough 1 year increase. I doubt it's even 500 seats (maybe 12 rows, 10 seats per section) and who knows how many of those were occupied by season ticket holders.

There is no moving over a section in the 100 level. All seats are a minimum now of $225 in the lower level.

My problem exists with what is happening with the Duke Bball game…..

As a football season ticket holder I was able to buy presale tickets…so I did. They were $150 a piece for the section in the 300 level that I bought. I bought the lowest possible row on the aisle that was available to me.

About a month ago when this season ticket stuff was happening, I looked at the map for basketball for Duke. Syracuse released new tickets several rows below where I bought as a football season ticket holder and wasn’t available when I purchased. Those tickets were being sold now at $125 a ticket.

This week I checked back again, they are now being sold at $99 a ticket.

Last season with my seats at $125 a piece I was being undercut by primary individual game tickets by a couple dollars almost every single game.

This season now at $225 a piece, I’m guaranteed that I will be undercut by individual game tickets directly from the university.

As I said to Eric, I don’t mind paying the $225 if that’s what their actual value is, but when you (Syracuse) starts selling individual games for below what I’m paying for season tickets now I’m angry. I’m the one supporting the team every weekend and making a donation to the university to buy the tickets. In return, I shouldn’t have to worry about the same university undercutting me and some random guy just bought the same seats that I sit in every week at less than what I paid for them. Which is why I want a little something extra so that way next season when Jimmy John shows up next to me and only paid $10 for his ticket that I paid $32 for I know that at least I got X,Y and Z from the university and that’s why it’s worth it to me to purchase season tickets

The lower bowl pricing isn't that big a deal. It is the upper bowl which they screwed up. There was no reason to have the $225 sideline high rows go down to $125. You also cannot have huge jumps in pricing vs last year. On top of that, you cannot have huge differences between A vs B vs C vs D vs $125s. The differences are rows and not sections which is unlike the differences in the lower bowl which is by section.

The upper bowl should be E, , G, H and not A, B, C, D. That way you can have different pricing vs the lower bowl (look at the ticket availability lower vs upper and tell me lower isn't more desirable). That simple change would easily fix the out of whack pricing. IMO someone dropped the ball on this big time. Something like this should be reviewed and approved. How the heck did this get through? How can you justify a $225 difference for a dozen rows closer? But hey SU AD has never been known to pay attention to detail so it shouldn't be a surprise.

These are all fair frustrations.

The way we've been performing as of late, I wouldn't blame people for just buying tickets game by game on the secondary market for almost nothing. Go sit in different sections of the Dome.

If I didn't have front row aisle seats right at the entrance to the section, I'd probably do the same thing. But to get that convenience for $125 for 7 games, can't pass it up.

Exactly and that’s my point I keep trying to remind them…I don’t think the price point is that awful but if the university is selling single game tickets for less than what the season tickets were, then the value isn’t actually $225

I asked him if Syracuse was going to guarantee that they wouldn’t sell tickets below $32 per game and he said that they can’t dictate what the market for those tickets might be next season…obviously.

However, in my humble opinion Syracuse should have a stop point that the lowest they personally will sell the tickets would be what the face value is on the season seats

In fairness they need to do a better job of separating the pricing of games and communicating it. This isn't the NFL where all games should be alike.

Seeing $225 per ticket with 7 games makes one think oh that is $32 a game. So when individual games go for $25, it is upsetting. But if instead they communicated that:

Louisville, Purdue, UVA, NC State, FSU
STH price $30
Individual $40

Wagner
STH price $15
Individual $25

Notre Dame
STH price $60
Individual $75

You see that you are making out. Then make sure the dynamic price never goes below the STH price. If those games aren't selling at $40 you can drop it down to $30. This would keep the STH happy by not dropping individual games below what they paid and it gives incentive to be a STH. You get to see what you potentially saved.

It would be nice if they threw in a few perks for STH, like an exclusive fan fest day or autographed memorabilia etc. They could probably do it at very little cost, but it would bring value to us.

I don’t even care if I come out exactly even to be 100% honest with you

But last season for 5 out of the 7 games I bought tickets below value.

The other game that I didn’t buy was Albany (didn’t attend) and then the other game was Rutgers and didn’t realize the third seat next to me was open and available

Either way, if I had bought individuals all season, it would have come out slightly below what I paid.

I was told today that the secondary market is what drives Syracuse’s selling price which I have an issue with too but that’s a different fight LOL

Yeah I am in 336 that got the bump. Likely moving out and into a lower price level. My question is are they holding back good inventory of seats or is what I am seeing on the website currently my best options?

They do for sure have some seats held back

Some of the lower seats went from $225 to $350.00, more then a 50% increase.

I am enraged with this increase as well. It just doesn’t make sense…especially considering the product on the field and how we are struggling to sell out half the place—which is a whole another discussion.

Between Bing, Rochester, Utica, Syracuse, Watertown, etc. there should be enough to get the dome packed for most games.

How are we looking in terms of numbers for STH in comparison to the last couple years so far?

Well, worked out a deal with Syracuse

They upgraded my tickets for this weekends Duke game and let me keep my original 4 that I bought.

So a total of 8 tickets to Duke.

Not exactly what I wanted but at least made me feel somewhat appreciated.

I have officially renewed
