Curtis Samuel caught a very similar ball last night for OSU, to prove your point.
I actually commented on that throw immediately. I said to my father... " that was a perfect throw, because ONLY Estime could have caught it. The defender had no chance at it." I was not mad about the throw at all and i think after a couple weeks of Dungey getting first team reps and cohesiveness with the recievers that is a good catch.Dungey overthrows Estime deep. Think the 2 read the defense differently. Estime tapped his helmet to signal "my bad"
I need to rewatch the game. I think Dungey threw a good ball and Estime rounded his route a bit and got too far under it. It looked like a good throw that should've went for six and as I mentioned elsewhere Dungey threw him open vs waiting for him to get past coverage.
edit- or was this the later throw to Philips I'm thinking of?
agree completely. We need more crossing patterns through the middle. It was automatic.I liked the pass that Dungey threw to Lewis over the middle. other teams kill us over the middle and Nassib and Lemon made their living over the middle. You can't throw everything to the side or deep.
He hates life. Life hates him back. It doesnt help that he was smacked with the ugly stick either. I wish the kid stayed out of town after he left. He is unwanted everywhere he goes.Mike has called just about everything in this town a "dump" at one time or another. I think he just doesn't want to be here. He tried moving up and they sent him back.
There are dozens of catches every week that make that one look pretty ordinary.
Our WRs are going to have to step up their game and make plays like that one if we're going to have a fighting chance this year.
Fantastic piece. Really wish there was more of that kind of detailed breakdown throughout the season.

Or I'm hurt. That's typical, not sure I remember seeing that on the exact play referenced by ImperialOrange though. Not trying to be a corrective douche or anything but tapping of the helmet means "I'm tired sub me out".

Yea, but if you read his lips he clearly say "damnit, that was my bad, sorry Eric Dungey."He was walking down the sideline. It was a quick camera shot of him.

Legitimate debate. So now we are having a debate over whether tapping a helmet means the same thing as tapping the chest.
