To Give Syracuse.com Their Due, This is Good Reporting

Curtis Samuel caught a very similar ball last night for OSU, to prove your point.

There was an end zone pass that Braxton Miller couldn't get to last night. He had to turn all the way around, then dive for the ball, and it was just out of his reach. I felt like that was what he was describing.

I couldn't see Cornelius the whole play, but it looked to me like he just had to turn back the other way, catch the ball off the other shoulder. All of which he did. Positioned himself, got his hands on the ball, didn't make the catch. We've seen a lot worse drops, but we've seen a lot more difficult catches made.

Dungey overthrows Estime deep. Think the 2 read the defense differently. Estime tapped his helmet to signal "my bad"

I need to rewatch the game. I think Dungey threw a good ball and Estime rounded his route a bit and got too far under it. It looked like a good throw that should've went for six and as I mentioned elsewhere Dungey threw him open vs waiting for him to get past coverage.

edit- or was this the later throw to Philips I'm thinking of?
I actually commented on that throw immediately. I said to my father... " that was a perfect throw, because ONLY Estime could have caught it. The defender had no chance at it." I was not mad about the throw at all and i think after a couple weeks of Dungey getting first team reps and cohesiveness with the recievers that is a good catch.

I liked the pass that Dungey threw to Lewis over the middle. other teams kill us over the middle and Nassib and Lemon made their living over the middle. You can't throw everything to the side or deep.
agree completely. We need more crossing patterns through the middle. It was automatic.

Mike has called just about everything in this town a "dump" at one time or another. I think he just doesn't want to be here. He tried moving up and they sent him back.
He hates life. Life hates him back. It doesnt help that he was smacked with the ugly stick either. I wish the kid stayed out of town after he left. He is unwanted everywhere he goes.

There are dozens of catches every week that make that one look pretty ordinary.

Our WRs are going to have to step up their game and make plays like that one if we're going to have a fighting chance this year.

Agreed 100%. I was concerned about the WR's before the season and I am still concerned after Saturday. Ish, Erv, and Lewis (to an extent) are the only WR's I trust. Cornelius did not look good and some of the young guns were totally MIA. Obviously extremely early but a guy like Custis or Womack breaking out would be a huge help.

Not trying to be a corrective douche or anything but tapping of the helmet means "I'm tired sub me out".

Or I'm hurt. That's typical, not sure I remember seeing that on the exact play referenced by ImperialOrange though.

No worries. Lifted that quote from the article referenced. FWIW I used to smack my helmet if I messed up kind of as a "wake up and get your ***t together out here" but maybe that's just me.

So now we are having a debate over whether tapping a helmet means the same thing as tapping the chest.

Hey, if it's football related, you can sure as hell bet we're going to debate it.

:rolleyes::crazy:
