The QB draft this year is awful though … wonder if McCord should’ve waited
I think McCord is in a good spot. Spent a year gaining good reps on the practice squad and experiencing what an NFL season is like. The Packers may draft a QB in the later rounds but he has a good chance at entering the year as the backup to Love, as long as they realize that Ridder has no upside. But NFL teams love trying out failed QBs and seeing if they still work.

Guess I’m confused as to why there’s so much support here (man does that sound mean). Countless times I’ve read on this board when someone transfers, posters say “never rooting for him ever again or man I hope he stinks it up at the other school”. He started 15 games total in his cuse career. He was 5-7 in his 2019 season. Was he really that important at Syracuse that he made a positive impact? Or is everyone just cheering for him now because he’s in the NFL? Genuinely curious

We will always have 4th quarter and OT vs. UNC in 2018 when Dungy went down! The legend was born that day and never lived up to that magic again in Syracuse. I thought we were going to start a dynasty in 2019. We had a Dino Babers system highly rated QB. The glory was back in the land of Orange. Sadly it was not meant to be!

The fact that he went to Syracuse University makes people want to cheer for him because as Jerry Seinfeld said it all comes down to laundry:). He wore our shirts at one point therefore we support him. My guess is if he were to start for the Patriots on Monday Night Football he would more likely say Illinois over Syracuse when announcing his name during the starting lineup promo thing. In fact, he might say neither and go with Don Bosco Prep to keep with his Jersey brand vibe he has established:)

I don't get it either. I'm guessing because a lot of the people supporting him were Giants fans and wanted to latch Syracuse on to his success once he won a few miracles for the Giants that season.

Some of us respect people for choosing Syracuse and even if they leave early, unless it was messy, we generally wish them well. Generally, I don't wish the failure of others, especially when there is no basis to do so.

Applied to Tommy Cutlets Devito, he was a good guy, gave what he could to the school, played in a system not designed for him, why not cheer him on.

I don't get the hate. Show me a sound fundamental basis to hate Tommy Devito and I will consider changing my position. I have not seen a sound fundamental basis to hate him.

I am going to preface my thought with the fact that I have no dog in the fight nor do I hate Devito. If he does well that’s great, if not then I hope he sets himself up financially and enjoys his life. The only knocks against Devito I could see folks having would be 1.) him essentially quitting before the season ended and 2.) his fathers behavior here did him no favors (again holding that against Tommy isn’t fair) but I could see those two things being reasons why folks aren’t enamored with him.
