Tomorrow is a must win

This is better than playing Rutgers in a no win situation. At minimum it helps our SOS.
I would’ve preferred a team like SDSU, Baylor, or Oregon. A Q1 opportunity that was more feasible. However, your take is absolutely correct. I was dreading this team drawing UNLV or Rutgers where a win doesn’t help you and a loss crushes you.

But this team has to find a way to beat either Iowa State or Tennessee. Can’t go 0-4 against the quality non-conference competition.

I think it's pretty clear that we absolutely need to find a way to beat either Iowa State or Tennessee...we're 2 losses away from our signature out of conference achievement being ~potentially~ beating St. Josephs...we'd have to go 12-6 in the ACC to even be considered at that point

We will find a way to beat ISU. I think a couple of our guys have great shooting games. My gut says this team has some dog in it and they don’t want to leave Vegas without a win. They’ll bring the fight today.

Everyone does realize that it is possible to win 13-14 games in the current ACC. Sometimes it takes teams longer to gel, especially in this NIL era. We have two Freshmen playing key minutes that should get better with experience. How many times have we seen non-Syracuse teams go on huge runs in conference play to go from mediocre to squarely in the tournament?

Not every team is at their A game in November. In other words, everyone needs to relax about "must pull an upset" games in November. Let's start with first avoiding an upset against us and build from there.

The ACC isn’t a gauntlet, but it’s a good bit better than last year. Outside of 2 or 3 teams at the bottom like BC, there are a lot of competitive squads. Only Duke and Louisville are probably realistically winning 13 or 14+ games in conference this year.

Our road schedule is ridiculous. We get all the weaker teams at home.

Season is on the line this week. Essentially have to split Iowa St and Tennessee in order to be taken seriously. If not, they have to win every big game in the conference which will not happen

Got it. I guess I'm skeptical of saying that game #7 is a "must win". But I agree that losing would be very bad.

Under no circumstances is game #7 of a 25+ game season a "must win"- not buying it.
I'm actually encouraged that this team showed fight in both games. We look to have a good squad and what we need is steady, gradual improvement until the postseason, where I'm convinced we can beat anyone we play.
Is it a big game and should we win? Yes. But "must win"?. Not even close. JMHO

And if we win a few of those road games, even against middle of the pack teams, they’ll be Q1 wins.
