With Parsons apparently never being offered, we only have Owens, Washington and Whitehurst (maybe). I have also heard that maybe Washongton will play DE. So that leaves just two with one being very soft. Turning away Neal could hurt.

Maybe but Spruill is only a soph, Lynch is a frosh, Vigille a frosh, Coker a soph and Davis a frosh ... so Owens and Whitehurts give us 7 plus if Washington does stay at LB that is 8 ... that isn't terrible.

True, and we still have Danny next year for depth. And Myles Davis coming in. I hope he is in his form he was at in Milford

and you don't know, what you don't know...

You are correct ... I think Davis will be ready to slide to MLB on day one ...

The amazing thing is we waste scholarships on special teamers, such as snapper, and still stink on special teams.

Is the scholarship freshman long snapper even the one snapping this year? or is he red-shirting?

He's snapping on punts. Eric Morris is short snapping. He's a walk-on.

Long snapping hasn't been a problem.

Correct. Our problem continues to be blocking and tackling even on specials. Ever wonder why Rene fair catches everything and guys are in his face?

Heard washington will be a DE once he is here most likely.

Because the other team punts the ball really high and their gunners are really fast?

Right now we have

Diabate - JR

Vaughn - SR

D. Davis - FR

Lynch - FR

Anene - JR

Aliyu - SO

Coker - SO

Incoming we have

Owens - 6'4, 210

M. Davis - 6'1, 225

Whitehurst - 6'3, 190

I think next year someone will overtake Vaughn (he can come back as a grad, right?), who hasn't really done much. Spruill and D. Davis will still be starters though.

Owens, M. Davis, and Lynch I think will be battling for Vaughn's spot. Washington too, if he doesn't get moved to DE.

I do not disagree that someone may overtake him next year but do disagree with he hasn't really done much; he is second to Phillip Thomas in tackles
Phillip Thomas 82
Dan Vaughn 61
Marquis Spruil 54

Vaughn reminds me of the lb's SU had in the late 80's, not the fastest guy in the world but was is around the ball and is a decent tackler.

They need to space out the LB's a bit. Look for next year to have 3-4 LB's.
All three starters and the back ups are back.

He has been solid.
Needs to put on weight or become more of a passing down LB for the D to get better next year.
