Betances has shown that long stretches of"rest" makes less effective with his control and and his slider. Once he has command with his fastball the out pich is his older or curve. He loses his touch without steady outings. Today's game in Boston could or should have been closed up by Betances to keep him at top performance level. Miller pitched yesterday I believe. Even batter get rusty when they are out too long. Its odd that now Drew is suddenly the offensive threat the Yankees thought he could be. Its taken a whole season to get his timing and reflexes coordinated. I don't think this surge will prompt the Yankees to make a qualified offer so he probably will be a player for another team unless the Yankees sign him at a reduced level as a backup
