Top 20

Honestly we should move up but not sure that would happen. We earned our ranking and proved to be even better. How many other teams in the country could play that first half in Death Valley?

You know your right. Didn't think of that

Most sports people seem to be pushing the story that Syracuse hasn’t played anyone tough this season. Even McDonough was beating that drum.
It seems likely that today’s loss will be viewed as evidence that the team isn’t as good as their record. It’s probably going to validate perceptions that SU is overrated.

SU needs to beat ND.

I don't think so, it was the number 5 team in the nation and we should have won

I hope you’re right; just feeling a bit pessimistic
I know very depressed knowing we could have won with so many chances even with suck calls by the refs. And now I hear Jackson was open in the end zone on the last play for us

Heard a lot of talking heads today say we’ve played one of the nations easiest schedules. Look at the early season schedule of some of the teams ranked above us.

Has Ohio State, Michigan, or UCLA had a significantly harder schedule than us?

Weird that this has become such a ubiquitous talking point.

It's lazy media hot take (hot trash)

Perception is usually reality when it comes to the rankings. The perception is we're overrated, and we finally played someone tough and they beat us. We're likely to drop, and probably more than most of us think we should.

Like I wouldn't even be surprised if Cinci moves ahead of us, even though that's a total joke when you look at their schedule.

I have to see what happens with tonight’s games but I’m gonna go out on a limb right now and say #11 in the coaches, #13 in AP.

we're not moving up with a loss, probably will be a fringe Top 20, definitely will stay in Top 25

Who is even positioned to jump ahead of us now other than maybe Penn State?
Maybe I'm just pessimistic because I'm used to our football team being disrespected, but I would expect Utah, Penn State, Illinois, Kentucky to jump us. It would be laughable, but I also woulnd't be surprised if Cinci or North Carolina jumped us. That would get us down to #20. I also wouldn't be surprised if LSU and/or South Carolina passed us.

I'm not saying that's what SHOULD happen, mind you. I just expect a ton of disrespect.

I have seen us at 16-17 in a bunch of early ballots for this week, and general perception is we proved we belonged.

I saw LSU at 13 in one of them!
