Top 50 Most Valuable CFB Teams

the B1G took two programs not on that list... good job, delaney
yeah but look at it...10 spots higher than Syracuse is 50% more valuable. 20 spots 100%.

theyre probably right there just a few mill off of us. odd point to bring up.

what struck me is that it shows that Syracuse needs and should...be in a bowl every G-D year.

and if they got to 49 on a bigeast budget, then they should rocket up the list with ACC $$ and wins.

Truly shocking data.

The disparity between the super rich and the rest is utterly mind boggling.

And some of the rankings are difficult to figure.

How does Kansas rate so highly? And, what about my alma mater, Indiana, a program that has gone to one bowl in the last 20 years while drawing few fans at home?

Do KS and IU make the list strictly on the basis of television revenue?

Great question OPA... Never really sure how to quantify this data outside of pure financial information. How do you calculate value based on general and casual fans... Nielsen ratings? And then how do you divide value when say a Rutgers plays a ND and gets high ratings and then plays Frenso State and gets low ratings. Which team incurs the negative value... Basically, I'm not smart enough to figure this crap out. What I do know is Texas is a gold mine!

Only six private universities on that list and only two private universities in the top 30.

Notre Dame #2
USC #15
Miami (FL) #35
Northwestern #40
Stanford #43
Syracuse #49

That says alot.

Well value does not equal revenue. In theory value should include the worth of athletic facilities, conference membership, and possibly a host of other things. The value of Syracuse increased the moment it accepted an ACC bid. So I don't think the comment about big east budget necessarily reflects the methodology used. However, until it is explained we just do not know.

Surprised by the placement of a few of those. Cal? Texas Tech? Kansas? All in the Top 30? But Stanford and UNC in the 40s?

Holy crap, just the difference between #1 and #10 is pretty ridiculous.

All value is encapsulated in the revenue stream. Just capitalize the projected revenue from all sources and you probably have it. Value of facilities should have nothing to do with it - has no value to us beyond the revenue it generates.

Good company.

Crack. Magic Mushrooms. Other psychadelic drugs. C'mon, TTech, Kansas and Cal have more value than most other teams? We need some serious explanations, peer review, because this does not compute.
