Sorry, that Missouri struggled with UT, they are terrible stuff made me a bit edgy.

So, by applying the transitive law to sports, I determined that Syracuse will lose by a lot this weekend.

Lets see how much shall we?

Syracuse 15 Rutgers 23 -8

Rutgers 23 Kent St. 35 -12

Kent St. 14 Kentucky 47 -33

Kentucky 10 Mizzou 33 - 23

therefore Mizzou should beat Syracuse by 11 touchdowns

Ouch.

That's a mighty selective use of the transitive theory (yes, in sports, it's only a theory, not a law).

Conversely, you could go with:
Vandy beat Missou 19-15
NW beat Vandy 23-13
NW beat SU 42-41

SU by 13.

that could only be applicable if Syracuse had won, silly.

Syracuse beat UConn 40-10 +30
UConn beat Maryland 24-21 +3
Maryland beat Virginia 27-20 +7
Virginia beat Penn St. 17-16 +1
Penn St. beat Northwestern 39-28 +11
Northwestern beat Vanderbilt 23-13 +10
Vanderbilt beat Mizzou 19-15 +4

We beat Mizzou by 11 TD's (no extra points :) )

and here I thought that I had too much time at work. lol

Each of these should be averaged over the number of games involved in the transitive chain.

Which leaves us with:
  • Mizzou wins by 76/4 = 19
  • Syracuse wins by 66/7 = 9.4

I'll take the latter -3 pts for home field advantage. Syracuse wins by 6.

Yankees have 27 World Championships. +27

Cardinals have 11. -11

Mizzou sucks. +14

SU by 17.

Prior to the NCAA tourney last year, USA Today showed the transitive theory that Kentucky (who was 30-1) could lose to Towson (who was 1-31).
It went like this:

Towson > UNC-Wilmington > Campbell > Iowa > Indiana > Kentucky

I love the transitive theory, ONLY because it shows you that any team has a chance to win.
