Thanks for posting.  But I think it's really difficult to draw any comparisons, at least with respect to the quality of back.  As you said, there are some obvious differences, the first being along the line.  These Bowling Green lineman appear bigger and stronger than their competition.  What the video doesnt show, is that at WR you had Lewis and Diener out there.  Lewis would be the best receiver Syracuse has had since Mike Williams, and Diener would be among the best.  These two were playing MAC level DBs so the defensive coordinators obviously needed to pay them more respect.  To me, the run game problem is two-fold:

[*]O'line simply cannot get any push yet.  The young guys are still too small, and the older guys are just too limited.  These weaknesses are surmountable if it is only one or two of the five, but right now the entire unit has shortcomings.
[*]Strickland is not a true, between the tackles back, and Neal is still too slight.  I really like Strickland in space.  I actually feel sorry for him that he is not a better true running back, because I think he is a pretty good, athletic football player.  As a freshman, he was excellent in space.  It's scary that even during its worse years, the program could pull natural runners like Brinkley, Carter and Gulley, and coach up guys like Bailey and Smith, yet we are currently stocked so thin at the position.
