Tree House Brewing in Saratoga now open

Taproom hours are noon to 9 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and also Sunday; and noon to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, according to the latest information on the Tree House website.

Some of thebest beet I ever had. I was in line at their Mass. establishment to get beer for my son's stag. SU had a tournament game the day after I was getting the beer and right behind me loading up were four SU frat guys, not my frat, but we had a great time waiting for our turn.

I’ve been wanting to go but will probably wait till it’s packed but then the weather will get nicer and it’ll be packed b/c of that. Guess it doesn’t matter.

I was there last weekend. First time at one. The place was pretty full and every time I drive by, the lot is full. My take on the ambiance... Very nice in terms of building and grounds and very, very, large. I am not a fan of the mall-like atmosphere... almost food court-ish even though their food menu is mostly pizza. It was cafeteria style as well for beer and food (lines can be long). Seemed a bit sterile and the first thing you walk in to is their gift shop... like going to or exiting and amusement park/zoo. Oddly, lots of children there. I only had one beer. It was an Imperial Stout called "Half Truth". I have been into bourbon barrel stouts lately. I wasn't a fan of this one. Very chocolately and not in a subtle way. More like they poured chocolate flavoring in. With that said, I have a BIL that absolutely dies for this place. He drinks almost exclusively IPAs and as an aside, loves Disney World (has gone twice/year for the last 20 years). So I can see why he might like the environment more than I.

In contrast...

The week before, we went to the Paradox Brewery in North Hudson. This was more what I like. The beer was great. I like lagers too and they had some nice ones as well as two different Belgiums I really liked (and brought some home). They had a full menu there and table service. I ate a fish dinner and it was very good. The building/grounds were not quite as fancy as Tree House but still nice and look forward to going during better weather.

Treehouse is a victim of it's own popularity unfortunately, they get so busy they have to be set up in a way to handle the larger crowds that they will put in especially on the weekends. I've been to several different Tree houses locations including the flag ship one in Charlton many times. It's definitely a different experience then a smaller more intimate type fo brewery that does flights, table service, full dining etc.

I would recommend trying to them again when they are not as busy be it during the week or fri nights which oddly I have found to be one of the best times to go to Tree House. Their IPA's are definitely some of the best in the country and my personal favorite but they do a lot of stuff well including stouts, lagers, Wild Ales, sours etc. They also have a great canned cocktail program with about a dozen + varieties that they usually rotate. They also sell their own spirits and coffee which I can vouch for and also usually have at least 1-2 specialty drinks you can get with your draft tickets that are excellent as well. I would recommend stopping by the flagship one is Charlton Mass, very cool location and they will have probably double the offerings Saratoga has as far as beers etc.

The kid aspect is the one part I am not a huge fan of I do agree with you there but they also allow dogs so the tradeoff is worth it.
 
So many breweries going under, that hearing of one doing well is a surprise these days.

just the last few days, Summerhill, Naples, and K2 closed or soon to be closed.

Treehouse is a juggernaut and their beer is that much better. Not sure about the others, but K2 made a big, and it turns out bad, bet on a huge 2nd location that did very poorly.
 
Went there a few weeks ago, having been to the Charlton spot several times. Great place, great beer, as everyone knows! One thing to mention is that their non-alcoholic cocktails are very good! Wife doesn't drink, so she's always on the lookout for a good mocktail. Their non-alcoholic mules and palomas are great!

Charlton is really the OG, I encourage those who only know the Saratoga location to give it a shot you won't be disappointed. Deerfield is also a must visit with the pizza and the unique building that you will swear is an old highschool.

I hold out some hope that based on the success of Saratoga, Tree house will expand farther west into the Syracuse market. Probably wishful thinking but it would allow them to capture the Buff/Roch area and force me to get a 2nd mortgage.

One of the top 3-5 breweries in the country for sure. They've expanded into a lot of non IPA beers as well further bringing in market share and those who aren't Hazy IPA fans (can't believe there are any). There a juggernaut and continuing to refuse any distribution has been a boon.

A Rochester based beer writer just announced that Tree House is doing a pop-up can sale in Rochester. He's also musing about them maybe opening locally. A similar thing happened with Brooklyn's Other Half Brewing. They started with pop-ups in Rochester and eventually opened in Canandaigua

Funny Other half did that in Syracuse to and I think they took hard a look at both and ultimately chose out by Rochester because a closing brewery presented a great opportunity. I think they would kill it here but I think it's unlikely they would do it.

Unfortunately it makes more sense to capture the Buff/Roch market plus some PA vs trying to draw them in with a Syracuse location. Would put it closer to the Syracuse area obviously then Saratoga assuming it wasn't built deep into Buffalo. Syracuse being centrally located in the State would have helped if it was the original location for NY but now with one already in Saratoga hard to see them opening one here. Treehouse is pretty deliberate on new locations so I suspect if they do build out that way it's still years away, though they have really ramped it up the past 5+ years.
