Trey made All American

That is great Jerry. You should be proud. Congrats to him!

That's great news Jerry he has made all of us proud. I can still remember him at that spring game and the board buzzing that it looked like he was all in for Syracuse. We will never know how a career here would have ended but the path he took he made a successful one. I know Trey has been through a lot both physically and emotionally with some changes he felt necessary. He never gave up on himself and worked extremely hard to accomplish what he did this season. You have nothing to worry about Jerry, Trey has the right stuff to be a success in life.

You & your family have every right to be proud! A happy holiday wish goes out to the entire Fairchild family from your syracusefan.com family

Jerry, is Trey hoping to continue his football career at the professional level? What type of interest is he getting?

He still has another year of eligibilty and he is going to use it. In regard to pursing football past college, yes he is. He is now working part time at two jobs to make money so he can pay for a personal trainer that has prepared kids before. Worked with Brady Quinn, Chinedum Ndukwe and a couple of others.

In response to doing his pro day at SU, per NCAA and NFL guidlines you must do it at either your home school if they have one (we do not) or at a school with 50 miles of your campus and if there is not one, you can petition to go to the closest school having one.

hey congrats to your son and yourself. A lifetime of work coming full circle as I know first hand so I can only imagine the amount of work it has taken to get here. The ups and downs must have been a tough wave to ride but sounds like its been so worth it. When I saw his HS film years back I saw immediately that he had the goods. Still think he'll be at the next level in some capacity and just wish that things had worked out here. Speaking of what's the chance of him finishing up his last year here? Just wishful thinking of course, but wouldn't that be cool as they could really use him here (BTW can you share anything about what the heck happened here that made him decide to move on?)

tonight. D3 Football.com named him an All American. A happy and proud day.

Thanks to all of you for the support you have given.

Congrats to you and Trey. He was my favorite player in his recruiting class and I was very disappointed (selfishly) when he transferred. I'm very happy that all has worked out and his hard work has been rewarded. Have a great holiday!

It was complicated on why he left SU, some family issues were at the top of the list. He also was a little homesick. Football was going well that spring and he liked Marrone. He has some regrets, but has moved on.

I don't think the coaches would ask for him to come back and he would actually be a couple classes short of graduating to make him eligible to make that final year transfer like Paulus made.

Scouts have asked for Otterbein to put a profile together and are going to get some film. He has to block better and strengthen his shoulder some more and certainly get faster, but as I said earlier he is doing that. D3 is not like D1 the offseason workout are there, but to really excell you have to do it on your own.

Glad to hear he can use one more year of eligibility. Since his school doesn't have a pro day, have you started looking at his options? Never too early.

A Class Kid from a Class Family ! Best of luck to him. Merry Christmas and a Happy Safe New Year to you and your Family. Go SU and Trey !

Congrats to Trey! Hopefully he can follow in the footsteps of some fellow Rocks to making it to the NFL.

Congrats Jerry! I still remember him from the autograph session after a practice. My nephew still has a signed SU football!!

Congrats Trey/Jerry, and good luck with his senior year and his pro aspirations. As I'm sure you're aware, if there is a good player out there, the NFL will find them. They leave no stones unturned.

You know, generally I tend to be selfish when it comes to players who come-and-go from the Syracuse...whether it be during the recruiting process or leaving early to continue their careers and educations somewhere else. Out of sight, out of mind. In this case, however, I am thrilled for Trey: Good for him and good for you, Jerry! I have always appreciated your input and contributions to the board and have appreciated that your input and support has continued to this day.
