Congratulations. What a nice Christmas present for you and the Fairchild family. Would be great to see him playing on Sundays.

I'll add my congratulations. It must be fun to have an All-Ameircan in the family.

I'll like your perspective on how Mount Union and Whitewater came to dominate Divsion III which used to be a showcase for a lot of other schools from various parts of the country and whether you think those two schools will continue to dominate.

I think they will continue. They treat their programs like D1 teams do. All year around and demand the same type of committment. Stay in the summer, off season hard workouts and the committment is from the top all the way down.

Most D3 schools have some workouts and that type of thing but concentrate more of getting kids interships and letting them go home to be with families in the summer.

Maybe there should be some rules about that and maybe dominant programs should be moved up to the next level. The same two teams in seven straight national championship games is kind of ridiculous.

Lead the league in receiving yards, all purpose yards, and ranked 3rd in all of D3 all purpose yards. A great year. This is great to hear. Congratulations to you and your son!

Congrats and best of luck to Trey and the rest of you in the future.

Final Tally once all teams have been announced. ;)

Here is what Trey got this year :

This was done on a team that went 3-7 and he was doubled every game

Congrats Jerry. I could see Trey on a team like the Patriots. Hopefully it happens for him someday.

Yeah we couldn't have used his speed on the outside at all this past year. :bang::bang::bang:

An interview Trey did. I think you can tell he still has affection for SU and cares about the program and was proud to be a part of it if only for one year

The first thing I noticed was Trey has filled out considerably from that day we first saw him on the Carrier Dome turf after the spring game visit. His chest & arms have gotten a lot bigger.

Sounds like during the transition of coaching staffs Trey wasn't shown enough love to make him feel like he was going to be a big part of the plans. That combined with his underutilization in the spring probably helped him decide that he would be better off going elsewhere. Such a shame because I think he could have helped us in a number of areas, namely wr & st's.

In the prior transition from coach P to GRob there was a gap where no one on the staff that remained maintained communications with the recruited class, thus losing Ray Rice to Shady when he horned in. I feel a similar thing happened when HCDM came in. Certain people like Trey weren't given any encouragement. Maybe they thought he was too small? As evidenced by his tapes he has done something about that.

It would be great to see him make an NFL roster one day, good luck to team Fairchild.

I agree pretty much everything you say here. I think Trey would have made a difference here. It's unfortunate, but when the guy that recruited you is gone, the head coach is gone, and the new coach isn't giving you a lot of attention, the term homesick is a great way to describe it.

I actually found out some things I did not know. LOL...He loved Steve Russ and Brian White, but I really did not realize the impact them leaving had on him.

I guess GRob also wanted to burn his redshirt after about 4 games but Chris White opposed that to save the year of eligibilty.
