for some reason when we got the double digit lead in the 2nd half, triche decided it was time to "get his." he singlehandedly got south florida back in the game with a couple of awful drives and a turnover.

triche, durty, kjo...

...i don't think there were too many all stars out there tonight.

1.Triche is the IQ Shooting guard who utilizes the whole floor.(He can push it a play or three a game in the halfcourt)
2. Dion is the push it attack and make some good things happen. Alitte more rolling the dice. (Triche tried to be this tonight)

My biggest problem tonight wasn't that Triche drove right down the middle three straight plays up 13. It was not using the IQ running around utilizing the whole floor and lateral dribbling he is capable of. He tried to attack with power and speed and didn't show the upperclass experience he is capable of.

We need to learn how to put 1+2 together. :noidea:

The turnover on the break when he dribbled off his leg completely changed the game. We were about to go up 16. Then the two drives and missed layups led to USF buckets. I don't remember Brandon sustaining a high level of play since the start of the 2nd half against Georgetown when he came out on fire.

I really like his game when he's playing well and we really need him to get that back.

The drives weren't bad, he got to where he wanted - just didn't finish

i thought he dribbled it off himself but then i rewound and saw that the USF pint sized point guard literally kicked the ball intentionally..it should have been our ball.

but he was trying to do too much. we were up big, it just wasnt necessary. as soon as he got the ball he had no intention of giving it up, he was playing 1 on 5.

Good call. That whole sequence seemed to take him out of the game. He gave up a wide open three at the top of the zone after not fighting through a screen shortly after that at well.

It doesn't matter if you get to where you want to be all that matters is the ball gets insdie the cylinder. I think both of Triches layups hit the outside of the rim instead of the inside (could be wrong though).

I didn't mind them, he beat his man off the bounce, which was good to see...the resulting botched layups were what made them brutal.

Shhhh. Don't let bees read this thread. He will call you a hater!

well you must be if your going to tell people they have a man crush when all that was pointed out was that the 2 missed layups were missed layups, not forced shots. funny how everyone whines for him to be more aggressive and then complain when he is. at least he did what jb wanted him to do, go to the hole hard.

that isnt correct. scoop didnt get around a screen completely so triche went under the screen to help out of scoops man. scoop didn't switch and triche didn't recognize that scoop got partially around the screen so when the ball got kicked back to the other side, we had both guards on the 1 man and the shooter was free. more miscommunication between scoop and triche than not fighting through a screen.

To me Brandon forced a lot of the action. It was good for him to be aggressive for once but missed layups are inexcusable. I'm not saying you were making excuses for his missed layups, but by saying he missed a couple layups conveniently ignores the fact that Triche played an awful game and committed too many key turnovers.

Now I am totally confused and JB is part of the confusion. I thought Brandon played a poor game (yup I am saying it); but in the presser, JB complimented Brandon a few times on being aggressive...driving to the hoop and trying to make those three plays in a row...now my confusion is...JB wasnt upset with the misses at the rim at all...got to re-evaluate how to judge a good and bad game for a player. I think JB's expectations may be different from ours and what upsets him is not what we think should.

JB is usually trying to build BT up -- he is a starter and needs to play aggressively to get good shots or get himself to the FT line. No way is JB going to be critical of the guy at this stage.
BT played his usual solid floor game (good position on defense, good judgment on what he was trying to do) but he didn't convert his best plays on offense. You really want him to be the guy who gets fouled in the last minute -- can't throw him under any bus for the one game he only makes 3 of 5 from the line. You want him to get into the lane on occasion -- didn't get it done this time; next time he will.
