Trishton Jackson: Vikings

Woo a former Cuse player at a skill position playing in an NFL game! A rare occurrence as of late.

Cousins and the rest of the Vikings WR room have a lot of confidence in Trishton. He has not been able to get a lot of time because he does not double as a gunner and is not the best punt return option.

He had some big days in pre-season and in joint scrimmages. As a Viking fan I was worried the Titans were going to sign him off their practice squad because of how he played. He can go up and get it.

Nice 2 point conversion catch for Jackson from Dobbs for the Vikings… bet nobody saw that combo coming! When was the last time a Syracuse WR scored points in the league?

Mike Williams?

The Athletic said he may have been the most impressive player in camp. Also said that he brings positive vibes on and off the field.

With some of the recievers we had in that same era, I didn't think he would be the one that made when they didn't. Good for him.

Really? He had one of the best seasons for a WR in school history.

Following AET and Steve Ishmael, I thought they were better. They had record breaking seasons and Ishmael was voted 1st team all-american. I especially thought the physicality and great hands Ishmael showed as a senior would allow him to stick. Jackson had a great year for us but was less consistent. He's done a great job sticking and growing.

I think any of them could have stuck. It's possible that Jackson has embraced hard work with little return for longer than others were willing to? Or that maybe he has that extra little "twitch" coaches talk about. As far as the others being better at SU...I think the others played in a more prolific offense with a dual threat QB than Jackson did.

Gotcha, I am surprised Ishmael didn't translate to the NFL. AET I think was the perfect guy at the perfect time. He made Dungey lobbing a duck deep down the sideline as best he could into not just a viable play, but a lethal one.

I think that was certainly the case with AET. I thought Ishmael abused DBs as a senior and his hands were glue. I remember Jackson having a few drops. I think your second sentence is really likely. It's a credit to his perseverance.

Jackson had a great camp and followed that up with great preseason games. Hopefully he makes the most of his opportunities when he gets on the field this year. It's probably a make or break season for him.

It doesn't hurt that he is probably Justin Jefferson's best friend on the Vikings.

Ishmael could barely get separation in college. Loved him as a college player but I don’t think his skill set was a match in the NFL.

Etta Tawo had suspect hands coming into his one year at SU. Maybe it was a lucky year or whatever. Thought he was a stud the one year he was with us. Could have also benefited from the surprise of the new offense he was playing in.

I thought Ishmael would be a possession guy in the NFL. Steve Young has said nobody is really open in the NFL. I thought he'd be physical enough to use his body and accurate NFL QBs would get it to him. I thought his hands would be good enough for him to be reliable. My thoughts were clearly wrong. I never had as much confidence in AET. I remember Jackson having a few frustrating What drops the year he was here. That gets you cut quick in the NFL. He clearly worked hard and fixed that. It's great to see guys stick to it and maximize their chance.
