Thought we did a good job of putting heat on him. My question; is our offense super complex? How can Pitt and others start a true freshman QB with success? I thought he was solid and they have a bright future with him, good legs, awareness and accuracy.

Yes, but that's Pitt's simple offensive system. What are they averaging per game in points, 10? Edited because I apparently cannot do spoilers. 38 PPG for Pitt.

38 might be familiar as the total points we have scored over 3 games, two of which were a safety.

We run an air raid offense. It spreads the defense and creates huge opportunities, but puts serious demand on the quarterback’s ability to read defenses and work down options, and also spreads out our own protection which necessitates getting the ball out quickly.

In hindsight what we really needed was a backup playbook, but that’s a huge ask.

Ok then the miss was getting an experienced backup who is more adept at understanding verse 24 guys who have never run this system. Miss on our part.
