The Chargers have tried to find a better fit at strong safety. They signed Bob Sanders last offseason after drafting Kevin Ellison in 2009 and Darrell Stuckey in 2010. But Steve Gregory remains the starter. Gregory has made 22 starts over the last two seasons, but the Chargers have never indicated that he'll be a fixture in the starting lineup.

"It is what it is," Gregory said. "I believe I've proven myself worthy of a starting spot, and I work extremely well with Eric (Weddle). I'm growing as a player and have my best football ahead of me. Only time will tell if the team feels the same way. We'll just have to wait and see what happens."

That left undefeated Syracuse ranked No. 1, Ole Miss No. 2 and LSU No. 3 to end the 1959 season.

Surely, the Sugar Bowl would have loved to match Syracuse with either LSU or Ole Miss. That wasn't going to happen in 1959, not in the Deep South. Syracuse, with black players including the great Ernie Davis, beat No. 4 Texas in the Cotton Bowl.

The rookie class showed promise, until the first three got hurt and RB Delone Carter fumbled a few times. Still convinced Carter will be a solid pro.
Phillip Wilson...Indy Star

With Andrew Luck presumably coming to town, why not bring in a new running back, as well? Joseph Addai is getting older, Donald Brown is, well Donald Brown, and then there’s Delone Carter, who was a fourth round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. Carter was supposed to be the guy to supplant Addai, and there’s still time for that, but he was the third running back on a bad team at the end of the year, after being benched for repeatedly fumbling the ball.

Ummmmm those Detroit winters must be rough. Doug put on about 60 lbs and is in desperate need of a tan.

Yeah I figured it wasn't your error but it's still a HA! moment when Hogue is confused for Dominic Raoila.
