Meet the 2012 Syracuse football team — QB Ryan Nassib
New York State High School Football Classic article titled "Summer football will heat up Dome" by Nolan Weidner is in the paper today but not up on the PS website as of 7:25 AM
Four future Orangemen will be playing, 2 have been excused and another potential player will spend a year in prep school. Without looking at the article can you name the seven players?
Five other players are headed for D1 schools such as UConn, Rutgirls, UND, Penn St and Pitt. Can you name them?

Of the 10 tryout players that worked out for the Chiefs, only Hampton QB David LeGree was on hand for Sunday’s practice
“What we told them, and we told their agents when we brought them here, that it was just a tryout and we’d probably send everybody home and then we’re going to talk about it and decide or determine if we want to bring anybody else back,” Crennel explained.
With seven roster spots available, the coaching staff will meet with GM Scott Pioli Sunday evening to discuss the possibility of extending contract offers to some of this weekend’s tryout players.

Phillip Thomas (5-11, 198) left Syracuse after being suspended a year for violating athletic department rules. Thomas led the Big East with six interceptions and topped Syracuse in tackles last season.
Johnson, Harris and Thomas went undrafted. They’re low risk-high reward types along with running back Bryce Brown, who quit at Kansas State. The Eagles drafted Brown in the seventh round.
“We try to do our homework before we brought the guys in, and we did background checks on them,” Reid said. “We just wanted to make sure we felt comfortable with it. Do they know that they goofed? Yeah, they know they goofed. Do they know that there aren’t a lot of second chances in this world? They’re getting one, so let’s see what they do with it.”

Former franchise quarterback Donovan McNabb says he's dropped "15, 20 pounds" from his hefty, Sydney Greenstreet-esque frame and wants someone to sign him to preserve the myth he was ever a Hall of Fame caliber quarterback. He also says he's been working with a personal quarterback coach -- the well-respected Goerge Whitfield, who helped prepare Andrew Luck and Cam Newton for the draft process -- and that together they've fixed McNabb's habit of "over-rotating" on throws, whatever that means. Proving again that aging quarterbacks can't be choosers, McNabb declared, when asked what teams he would consider joining, "I have a full list. A full list of 32."
