Ted and Froggy definitely liked the limelight. Best officials
are those that don't make themselves part of the game.
I officiated 50 years ago. The rule book was actually discussed
and emphasized as the standard for how a game should be officiated. In today's world of non stop physicality it's not even close to those bygone years where a hand check was a foul, palming the ball was a thing, and you had to establish a pivot foot down low.
I like today's game, but sometimes the physical banging can get a little much, especially for officials that see it constantly but only call it selectively. Not sure when they decide to pull the trigger at certain times and not others, but that's their decision and thankfully not mine.
