Tyler Lydon missed dunk shot.

Calling charges on dunks is the dumbest call in any sport by far. Just think about it.
What about calling charges in guys that leave from the free throw line and are literally just heaving the ball?

Paul Harris WISHES he could almost dunk like that!

Just think about it.

Not really. If player has position he should not be bulled over. That said, what I can't stand more than anything else in a world is a basketball referee making charge or block call with emotional exuberance. I'm sorry but the referee is NOT part of the emotion of the game. If a referee moves more than one foot to make a charge or block call I think the guy is a total a hole.

I could not find a CBB video of ref, but check out this call:

Just way too animated.

Dave, check out the video I posted in the "Evolution of the game" thread from 1970 if you want to see "exuberant" referees. You'll get a big kick out of it.

I was at that game and saw it live.
That had to be a treat ... to hear the crowd in that converted cow barn after Flynn's dunk. Looking back, it symbolized the disintegration of R-BB. Johnny might as well have tea-bagged the Rutgers coach, the AD and the chancellor.

It was pretty amazing seeing Lydon in full FU mode. That Foote guy must have really said something out of bounds because I've never seen Lydon that pissed in a game, ever.

Hopefully the switch went on and it never goes off.

I think I heard Foote say to TL "you cant guard me".

Watching the game, I said, "no, you can't guard him".
