Wanted to write something on this! 3 Reason Why Babers is here to Stay
https://www.trademarkpod.com/single-post/2018/11/06/3-Reason-Why-Babers-is-Here-To-Stay
hate to be "that guy", but - it should be 3 Reasons
You make some excellent points, and I agree with your premises.
Dino & Wildhack get along famously, and Dino actually had a hand in choosing his AD.
(how often does THAT happen??!!)
Add in Syverud, and we have 3 guys about whom everybody says they "get it", and are doing all the right things to try to help the program succeed, now and in the future.
Reason #1B - Dino said he wants to go someplace where he can complete for Championships.
He's already proven (Belief WITH Evidence) that he CAN do that at Syracuse.
He is literally 2 4th down plays away from being UNDEFEATED in the ACC, and a Top 4 team in the BCS Playoff standings.
But - we're not going to get antsy if he doesn't win it all each and every year either.
See below:
Reason #2B - "better" football programs come with much higher/often unreasonable expectations.
Bo Pelini won 9 or 10 games EVERY YEAR at Nebraska, and they canned him because it "wasn't good enough".
Look at that program now.
Auburn wants to fire the only coach who ever wins against Saban and Alabama, because he can't do it each and every year.
USC may fire Clay Helton after he took them to 3 straight bowls (and possibly a 4th this year), because they "expect more" from their program. He is 31-14 so far at USC, and on the hot seat.
And the list goes on and on.
Reason #4 - the Dome renovation project, and the home field advantage that it can provide that is uniquely ideal for Dino's offense.
There is no other program in America that has a better venue for Dino's O.
Point blank, period.
He can have basically a lifetime contract at SU, and leave here a legend who gets mentioned in the same breath as Coach Mac and Boeheim.
And for some of old timers Coach Ben.hate to be "that guy", but - it should be 3 Reasons
