Tylik Hill

Dude looks good. I’m also glad Fran explained why he was yelling at him after the good run. Turns out tylik ran off the field after the good run other running back could get into the game. While Fran liked his selflessness he was not happy about tylik taking himself out

Could have been ugly, without Willis. Even against Colgate.

Thought Nixon looked solid. Hart also delivered. And the young guns all flashed.

But Hill stood out. Quality of opponent was certainly a factor, but he showed some different capabiliites than most.

Felt the same way about WRs Williams / Daniels. They [like Hill] are a year away, but...

The burst Williams had on that short pass was insane. He looked shot out of a cannon.

I believe one of the announcers said Fran felt that some of his best players are freshmen and his second year guys. That was great to hear for the future.

He made the Colgate defender start counting the rubber pellets on the field. That juke was nasty!
Yeah when the coaches review the game tape they are going to see that run and realize that is something you can't teach, it's just god given talent and uncorking that talent in a game. That move was "Barry Sanders " level. He has to get more touches moving forward. I would split him in on Nixon's reps. Speaking of Nixon he does some things pretty good out there but his blitz pickup is non existent. He needs to be 100 percent better there.

our passing game requires RB who can handle pass protection. I think as a runner Nixon is probably down 4th or 5th best. But as a catcher blocker he is probably #1.

There is a lot of above-grade young talent in the program. This is how Fran will build a consistent winner. Establish the foundation. The portal can help, but it should not be a crutch.

Loved what I saw from Hill. He totally trucked a few Colgate guys on a kick return. Set NJ HS records so the production was there but he's only 5'9" so he didn't get any recruiting love. Fran did the right thing and picked him up. Reminds me of Jay Bromley falling into our lap.

I want to see more of Hill. Every touch was exciting. We have guys that can run by people but it's fun to see someone make people miss.

Hart looked perfectly servicable.
Coleman looks like a speed back without a hole playing his first game.

I try not to get that excited about freshmen anymore (not an old man gay joke) because it’s just so hard to hold onto the good ones.

That said, Hill and Williams looked really good. Carney looks small (which probably explains why he’s here and not playing in Texas), but he certainly looks fast. Axe had commented on that all thru spring practice.

He might be our best all around back. He's just young. Next year he will be 15 pounds of muscle bigger and is going to be a handful
